New website. Guitar School. New Album. Wedding!

Hey there,

So first off, I have a new website! This has been a LONG time coming. My first Guitarley’s site was a simple Wordpress blog page, but it did the job. Then I built seanfarleymusic.com alongside an album release, as a combo package through the company that printed the cds. That wonderful domain name, that I had for so long, was unfortunately stollen by a foreign country. You can go check it out to view that tragedy. I was never happy with either of these, and the technologies for building your own website have improved over the past 15 years for sure! So, I have deleted the past and will now try to be a better keeper of the new and improved website for all things music and guitar making, in one convenient place!

In May I decided to take guitar lessons! That’s right… I’m studying music theory and guitar techniques to further my skills and understanding of music. I enrolled in a one year online program that a good friend has built up! I learn through watching videos, completing tests, submitting technique performance videos, and doing zoom lessons. I’m loving it! I’ve always lacked so much technical knowledge and relied on a very good musical ear. I like to use the metaphor that I have a few colors that I make nice paintings with, but what could I do with more colors, and the understanding of how to make my own colors!?

I have a goal to release a full band LIVE album! When I released “Raising The Grain” in 2019, I did a release party with my band Lynn & Farley 5, plus two very special guests! It was an incredible show with these talented friends. I hired a professional sound engineer that night to capture all the individual tracks. I have been working on mixing it for over 3 years now, since learning to record my own album through the strangeness of a global pandemic. In that time span I have been distracted from and interrupted by a new career, found love, bought and renovated a home, and everything in between. I plan to release the album before the year is up! All in due time, but I have a video of “No More Blues” from that night on the website on the music page! Check it out!

Lastly, on a much more personal note, I’m getting married! I have finally found the right person and we are getting hitched on September 8, 2024! Of all the chapter of my life, this feels like the biggest one yet! Once the dust settles and we get back from a honeymoon in Italy and Ireland, I hope to start writing a new album. With my current music education and love in my heart, I hope to find some new songs to share with you all!
